Greetings Eagles, Today, Schoolcraft Community Schools took a proactive step in strengthening school safety by introducing The Boot by LockOut USA to all K-12 students. This state-of-the-art security device is designed to reinforce classroom doors during emergencies, providing an added layer of protection for students and staff. Throughout the day, students attended grade-level assemblies where expert trainers from LockOut USA, alongside school staff, provided hands-on demonstrations and clear guidance on when and how to properly use The Boot. To help younger students understand their role in this new safety protocol, "Bobby the Boot," a friendly mascot, joined the presentations, making the learning experience both engaging and memorable. Across all grade levels, trainers and staff were impressed by the students' attentiveness and quick demonstration of understanding during the safety drills. The district encourages families to continue the conversation at home—parents and guardians are encouraged to discuss today’s safety training with their child or reach out to teachers/school office with any questions. By working together, Schoolcraft Community Schools remains dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive learning community.
