Schoolcraft Elementary School

Second graders at Schoolcraft Elementary School stepped into the role of Caldecott judges by reading Caldecott Medal contenders over the last several weeks. They analyzed illustrations, compared texts, and shared thoughtful opinions supported by evidence. The project blended reading, art, and critical thinking in a meaningful and engaging way. The students were lucky enough to study this year’s Caldecott Medal winner and three of the four Honor titles, making this a favorite annual second-grade project!
