Golden Apple Award

Each year Western Michigan University gives out the Golden Apple Award to honor outstanding individuals who graduated from the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University. Award recipients are honored at the annual  Golden Apple and Keystone Awards Ceremony.  The recipient is a person who:

  • Is a graduate of the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for the teaching and learning process
  • Has a distinguished record of applying and widely sharing professional expertise
  • Has had a positive impact on students or the educational process through high standards, professional integrity and commitment to learner-centered education

This year WMU awarded our own Superintendent Dr. Stitt with this prestigious award at the annual award ceremony held on Thursday, October 10.  Many of Dr. Stitt's family members, staff, current and former board members, and his own elementary Principal were in attendance at this event.
