Class of 2020,
To say your school year has been unexpected is quite the understatement. However, in spite of an unpredictable end to your Senior year, you have been rock steady. In what has been a test of your gritt, determination, and perseverance, Schoolcraft Community Schools is dedicating a lasting symbol of the Class of 2020.
Join us on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 8:00 P.M. for a Rock Dedication. A local Schoolcraft family provided a giant rock to be placed at Roy Davis Field as a testament to your class. The rock will be housed at Roy Davis Field and be used as a symbol of the rock solid attributes demonstrated by your class. While future classes will use the rock for celebrating big events in their school careers, your class will be the first to adorn it with your hand prints.
Given the indelible impression you have made through persevering in a difficult set of global circumstances, it is only fitting you get to leave your handprint on a rock dedicated to your class. In order to commemorate this experience, a photographer will be on site to take your individual photo while you put your handprint on the rock.
While we are still living under COVID-19 social distancing expectations, this event is reserved only for members of the Class of 2020. If Governor Whitmer announces adjustments to public gatherings for June 30th, we will be sure to provide an update accordingly. Otherwise, all students joining in the dedication and rock painting are encouraged to abide by social distancing and face mask guidelines (viewable by clicking here). If you are feeling sick the day of the event or are running a temperature above 100.3 degrees, you should stay home and will be provided an opportunity to add your hand print prior to Commencement.
We look forward to seeing you June 30th beginning at 8:00 P.M.
