Students should come prepared to spend time outdoors for recess every day. When the temperature is 10 degrees or above, students will have outdoor recess. If there is snow on the ground, students must have boots and snow pants in order to leave the blacktop area. Students should not rely on lost-and-found for hats, gloves etc. Please write your child’s name in boots and snow pants. It is also a good idea for children to keep an extra pair of socks in their lockers.
If children are well enough to be in school, they are typically well enough to go outdoors and enjoy recess. If your child needs to be inside for recess for more than one day, a note from a physician is required for children to be individually supervised during recess time. If you have extenuating circumstances that need to be considered, please call our office.
Lost-and-Found
Our Lost-and-Found is over-flowing! If your child is missing a clothing item, please have them check our Lost-and-Found or stop in and take a look. Thanks!!
2012 – 2013 Kindergarten Registration
It’s not too soon! Children who will be five on or before Dec. 1, 2012 are eligible for Kindergarten during the 2012-2013 school year. If you have a child who is eligible to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year, please contact our office at 488-7200. (Parents of students currently in Young-5’s do not need to contact our office.) If you have a friend or neighbor who has a child who will be five prior to Dec. 1st 2012, please encourage them to contact our office.
What is Scrip?
"Scrip" is the purchasing of giftcards to stores and restaurants that you already use. Companies donate between 2% - 14% of the card's value back to our schools. You're not paying any extra and there's no need to change where you shop.
It's easy to participate! Where do you spend money every month? Do you eat at Wendy's, Mancino’s or Texas Roadhouse? How about going to Celebration
Cinema to catch a movie? If you buy shoes at Payless, books at Barnes& Noble, clothes at Sears or American Eagle, or home project materials at
Lowe's or Home Depot, then Scrip has cards for you!
Wrap Around Program Schoolcraft Schools offers child care for Schoolcraft’s Young 5 and Kindergarten students in a ‘Wrap Around’ program. This program is designed to provide quality day care for the second half of a student’s day in the Early Elementary building. Due to its popularity this year, we are already receiving calls from next year’s parents to have their child’s name placed on our registration list. Please contact our office (488-7200) if you have questions about this program or would like to have your child’s name added to our list for next year.
The Mission of the Schoolcraft Early Elementary School Staff is to develop capable and responsible learners. Our highly qualified, professional staff in cooperation with students, families, and community, will teach a challenging curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment.
Colder Weather is Coming! Children should come to school prepared to go outside every day. With a little practice, students should be able to put on their outerwear by themselves and zip their own coats. Please make sure to write your child’s name on all outerwear items.
